Safe Sleep NC knows that you want to keep your baby safe while they sleep and we are here to help! One way to do that is to create a safe place for your infant to sleep and that includes having them sleep on a separate sleep surface from others. Although it is not recommended, some parents do have their infants sleep with them, this practice is called bed sharing.
There is no 100% safe way to bed share and, sadly, bed sharing is associated with the majority of sleep-related infant deaths in North Carolina. Certain things make it especially dangerous to bed share with an infant. We want to help you make informed choices about how you care for your infant.
